This week I was in the studio recording a new project dedicated to Mother Earth. Although the songs were written around this time of year in 2019, I find the music more relevant than ever. Recently, I have been receiving many messages of validity and assurance through open conversations on why we hoard music, and why it's not right. Perfectionism seems to be the foe of progress for an overthinking artist, and I am trying to create a remedy to cure myself of inaction. As artists, we can never truly attain what we envision in our minds, and should we decide it, we can become stuck in our own feelings of inadequacy. In true wabi-sabi fashion, I am deciding to accept the imperfect state of what is and share what I have been working on, not letting my perfectionism hold me back.
With that being said, receiving feedback, comments, and replies to my posts mean a lot to me. They affirm that I am on the right track, even when life knocks me off of my feet. Sometimes it can feel disheartening when it seems like people simply don’t care, but I know that you all care and that is why you are here.
As I am releasing some new music soon, the best way for me to get playlisted is by increasing my follower count. So I have a simple request:
If you aren’t already, will you follow me on Spotify?
Wouldn't you love to tell people you heard it first?
Until September,
Fo Fera
p.s. I am going to be sharing behind-the-scenes, rough takes, music video early access, unreleased songs, and occasional covers on my paid Substack side (yes, that will be launching in September).
