Welcome to The One Journal
Exploring the Intersections of The Human Mind, Connectivity, and Polymathic Presence
Hello, I'm Serah, the creator of The One Journal. I would describe myself as a polymathic anthropologist and social experimentation queen, ever curious in supporting humans doing human things. As an ecologist, writer, musician, mother, and spiritual seeker, I'm passionate about weaving together threads of personal growth, environmental stewardship, and collective healing.
I am currently in school pursuing my first BA in Linguistic Anthropology and simmering on what I want an MA in.
I studied and am certified in both Apparel Design and Merchandising and Italian Language and Culture. A deep goal that I hope for is to obtain fluency in 日本語.
What is The One Journal?
The One Journal is a space for curious minds and open hearts.
A space for empaths and gentle souls. Those who have grown up around the expansive and lonely world of solitude and silence and are seeking answers and a resonant community. Those who envisioning worldbuilding and partaking in a quier community of humans who share your interests.
By subscribing, you are becoming a part of a living breathing space. Every new edition of the journal and the podcast will go directly to your inbox. As a polymath, my interests vary, so you will see this in my topics as well. Generally the focus will always be around the human mind, failing forward, and learning from living.
Leading life as an autodidact is fun, interesting, expansive, and ever changing. As an avid gardener, I am finding ways to incorporate that more here with seed swaps, foraging, making things with my hands, long walks, and more.
Here we dive deep into:
-Cultivating feeling whole
- Reflections on spirit and personal transformation
- Creative expression and artistic exploration as someone connected to source
- Using deep innate wisdom towards environmental consciousness and stewardship
- My own flavor of social justice and community building
-The thread of human connection
Through essays, reflections, and occasional poetry, I invite you to join me in contemplating our place in the web of life and our role in shaping a more compassionate world.
This is a Deep Dive
This is a safe space for me to overshare. As I have actively been practicing becoming a better listener, it has exposed some shortcomings I need to work on improving. The work will be intentional, as I am slowly starting to unpack all of my emotional quirks to simply attempt to be a better human. As of November 2024 I can say all the years of EMDR are finally settling into my bones and I have some real temperament shifts which I personally feel quite content about.
If you like reading self-improvement, psychology journals, or simply want to watch someone crash and burn while trying, I invite you to subscribe. The complexities of being human are always present, but I think we all want and need love. As a hopeless romantic, I can’t wait until someone out there meets me where I am at and we both learn and grow simultaneously. Until then, you can find me home in my garden, with a project or book in hand, or making something delicious.
We will be going deep into my emotional space, and things will get uncomfortable. Life is a bumpy, windy ride up a very precarious hill, but I like the thrill of it, and I’m prepared and emotionally open for the brief ride down.
What to Expect
- Thoughtful insights and practical wisdom delivered to your inbox
- Deep dives into pressing ecological and social issues
- Seasonal reflections aligning with natural cycles
- Curated resources for further learning and growth

The One Journal is more than just a platform for my writing—it's a living, breathing entity that grows with each reader's presence and engagement. Your presence here, whether through reading, commenting, or sharing, adds to the richness of our collective exploration.
As I navigate the delicate balance of sharing my work, being of service, and tending to my personal practice, I'm deeply grateful for your support. On Cadence
First and foremost, I am a writer, and I do not believe I need to show up, share and be seen on an expected amount each week, month, you name it. I write online when I want to share, and when I don’t, I write for myself, in my personal journals, or I work on my first novel, which I plan to release by 2027.
